12th Annual Hope & Unity Awards Gala

Pico Youth & Family Center (PYFC) invites you to the 12th Annual Hope & Unity Awards Gala on Saturday, December 5, 2020.

The #PYFCGala is a special time for us to recognize extraordinary individuals in our community who have successfully transformed their own lives as well as the lives of others.

This year’s Hope & Unity Awardees are:

Cynthia Santiago, Immigration Attorney

Maria Vivanco, Labor Organizer

Ron Wilkins, Author, Civil Rights Leader

Gina De Baca, Activist, Founder of Santa Monica Ballet Folklorico

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have re-imagined this year’s virtual gala to center Intersectional Voices: Los Angeles Unified for Social Justice & Movement Building, a conversation on how far we have come and how far we have to go, and the role of community allies like yourself in building solidarity and positive social change.

The Intersectional Voices Panel includes:

Luis J. Rodriguez, Author, Founder of Tia Chucha’s Centro Cultural

Dr. Melina Abdullah, Co-founder of Black Lives Matter LA, Professor of Pan-African Studies at Cal State LA

+ More

The Gala also features

Virtual Happy Hour (4:30-4:55pm)

Intersectional Voices: Live Discussion Panel + Q&A (5-6pm)

Award Ceremony + Youth Stories (6-6:30p)

During the Gala, you will hear from the youth we serve who will share their stories of positive transformation and how our program and services contributed to their success.

Join us in bringing Hope and Positive Transformation to the lives of the youth we serve.
