Silicon Beach and Santa Monica-based companies are encouraged to undertake a PYFC high school-aged youth or young adult (ages 18 to 24) as an intern or mentee.

PYFC Internship Guidelines
Companies considering which option is the best fit should note PYFC’s suggested guidelines:
Internship
- Duration should last between four to eight months
- Participants are ready to commit 6 to 10 hours per week during regular business hours
- Participants are expected to arrive on time and ready to assume assigned duties
- Participants should receive a letter or certificate or completion to acknowledge their participation upon completion
Mentorship
- Duration should last between eight to twelve months
- Mentor and mentee should meet at least once every-other-week for no less than one hour at the mentor’s worksite
- Mentors are expected to discuss aspects of their profession and answer questions related to their preparation
- Whenever possible, mentors who are women will be matched with mentees who are young women
- In each case, PYFC will assign a case manager to monitor each participant’s progress and provide support for company and youth participants along the way.
